BulAPRAS

The Bulgarian Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (BulAPRAS) was established in 2000. All members are certified, plastic surgeons. The main goal of the organization is to provide quality and safe services in each of the areas of the speciality - reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery and treatment of thermal trauma.

BulAPRAS coordinates and supports the activities of plastic surgeons in Bulgaria, for which it works in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Miltary Medical Academy and National Health Insurance Fund. Prepares opinions on the problems of the speciality, organizes scientific meetings and events to raise the qualification of its members, assists in the preparation and improvement of the programs for specialization and qualification of doctors. Informs the public about the nature, effect and risks of various plastic-restorative and aesthetic operations.

BulAPRAS is a member of several international organizations in plastic and aesthetic surgery and participates in joint scientific and educational projects, training and consensus meetings on the problems of the speciality. It annually organizes three scientific events, which are open to doctors, students and medical professionals with interests in plastic surgery. From 2017 BulAPRAS holds an annual competition for the best report from graduates with a cash prize for participation in an international form of training and education in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. With its diverse domestic and international activities, the association strives to maintain a current level and high quality of medical services in the scope of the speciality.
